What is ITS?

Viewed as the honor society of high school theatre, Plymouth South High School Theatre Guild is proud to be the home of International Thespian Society Troupe #8630. Many doors open for those who are inducted members: competing in individual events (similar to Speech and Debate), auditioning for dozens of collegiate and conservatory theatre programs, auditioning for scholarships awarded by the Massachusetts Thespians, and participation in workshops at the conferences at which all of these events take place.

How do I join ITS?

Every May, eligible students will be offered an invitation to become members of the International Thespian Society. Thespian induction takes place each Spring at the guild's annual banquet. Requirements for students to receive an invitation are below.

What are the requirements to join ITS?

To be given an invitation to ITS, students must do the following:
  • accrue 10 points over the course of a school year (the equivalent of 100 hours)
  • attend at least 50% of full guild meetings throughout the school year
  • play both a performance and a technical role for any two productions in one academic year
  • complete no less than 2 tech hours throughout the school year
  • be in good academic and disciplinary standing
Students' points will be logged by the director throughout the year and posted twice a year: once in September and once in January. Students may track their own points if they choose, but the director's account is the account that will determine eligibility.

The director and advisor committee makes the final determination as to which students receive invitations in May.

The points breakdown for Plymouth South Theatre Guild is below.
